Compu-Med will begin offering a remedial practical nurses course on August 16, 2021. What does this mean for you? Well, if you did not pass the NCLEX three times, you may be eligible for this remedial program that will allow you to take the nurse licensing exam again. 

What to expect in the remedial program

The remedial practical nursing course is only available to those who have failed the state nursing exam three times. Classes are offered at the Kendall campus and start a new rotation every Monday. Student applicants may need a letter from the state before enrolling, in addition to the completed school application. 

Courses will cover everything that you need to know for the NCLEX. Hands-on clinicals also prepare students for real-world patient care. The Test Taking and Study Skills course may also be beneficial. Improving your study skills will improve your chances of success!

There are 10 modules and 5 clinicals to complete. Students learn about pharmacology, medical surgical nursing, geriatrics, maternity, and pediatrics. All stages of human life and medical concerns are discussed. Students also get to learn community and leadership skills. 

Each module is 8 hours, while the clinicals vary from 8 to 24 hours. This is spread across 10 weeks so that you can thoroughly grasp the topics as you move through the course. With the study skills models, you can learn better study skills to further improve your test taking skills for the NCLEX. 

Preparing for the nursing field 

The remedial practical nursing courses at Compu-Med will prepare you for the professional nursing field. Gain the knowledge and skills that you need to take the NCLEX again. You should have improved chances of passing the exam and can begin working as a nurse in as little as 10 weeks.
